Some days ago, it was discovered that Epic Games had updated their Unreal Engine 3 tech site and added ‘PC’ to the list of platforms that Mortal Kombat 8 is being developed for. Now, Midway has responded to this. It’s not a response too many PC gamers will be happy with though - the company doesn’t confirm nor deny the existence of MK8 on PC.

But while that’s the official response, a Mortal Kombat fansite has apparently received word from the development team itself, who say: “right now we have no plans to put MK on PC.”

The way we see it, even if it’s not in development at this time, there’s still a chance of it happening. Especially after these words from Midway:

Many fans have requested a PC version of previous games to no avail, but it seems possible Midway may finally deliver. It is important to keep in mind that while the site is owned by Epic Games, nothing is confirmed at this time. Midway officially has no comment on this matter at this time. We will be sure to keep you informed when or if this changes.

Make of this what you will. But since Midway didn’t outright deny it, we choose to keep hope alive.
