In an article earlier posted by IGN previewing Epic Games' upcoming Gears of War 2, an interesting remark was dropped by team member Cliff Bleszinski about Kojima Productions' hit Metal Gear Solid series. The developer said that the MGS model isn't one that they'll be following in terms of storytelling,in GoW 2.

Hideo Kojima's has been in London this week, not just for the signing of pre-release MGS4 sleeves at HMV Oxford Street, but also to pick up a couple of Guinness World Record certificates. Of course Konami would be reluctant to end the Metal Gear series; it's one of their biggest franchises. While Kojima has insisted that Solid Snake must meet his end in the upcoming MGS4, it doesn't necessarily mean that the franchise will be over. story details »

Metal Gear Mania continues today. Series creator and director Hideo Kojima presented the first ten minutes of Metal Gear Solid 4 to the press today, and the folks at 1UP were able to capture it off-screen. Hideo Kojima clarified on his latest blog podcast that he's absolutely not disappointed with Metal Gear Solid 4, despite earlier reports of his dissatisfaction. He's just trying to be modest about the game. He put the blame on his words getting lost in translation as the reason why his views were taken askew.
