Don't panic, Europe! Konami hasn't forgotten about you, they're just being slow. The Metal Gear Solid Database, which was released in America and Asia last week, will be available on the EU PSN Store this coming Thursday. That's it, you can all breathe a sigh of relief. As you might have noticed if you grabbed the Database early from another account, your PAL save file won't be compatible. story details »

Are you still worried about Silent Hill: Homecoming being in the hands of a Western developer instead of Team Silent? Konami producer William Oertel put it pretty well: "Much of it is very deliberate. You don't have to go into every single detail. The Associated Press is reporting that Konami is canceling its Metal Gear Solid 4 launch events after a deadly stabbing rampage. Tomohiro Kato, a 25-year-old factory worker, carried two knives on him when he was arrested. Kato used one knife to stab more than dozen people in Tokyo's Akihabara district, a popular destination for manga, anime and video games. story details »

The new Silent Hill game isn't completely abandoned by the original Japanese devs: long-time composer for the series, Akira Yamaoka, is still on board and singing praises to the new staff and the new game. There are cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid 4 that are 90 minutes long. Not total, that’s just one cut scene! So be prepared with some munchies. But you can skip the cutscenes or pause them. Konami is really going all out for MGS4, no wonder they ran out of room on the 50GB Blu-ray disc. story details »

This won't come as a huge shock, we're sure. Metal Gear Solid 4 is out in just over three weeks and we hadn't heard word one about a limited edition gunmetal PS3 bundle for UK. So it comes as no surprise to hear, definitively, that they won't be made available for the region. A Konami UK PR Rep confirmed it with Gamespot yesterday. Of course Konami would be reluctant to end the Metal Gear series; it's one of their biggest franchises. While Kojima has insisted that Solid Snake must meet his end in the upcoming MGS4, it doesn't necessarily mean that the franchise will be over. story details »
